Caribbean soul food, rum and cocktails
Turtle Bay Liverpool, in the historic Produce Exchange building on Victoria Street, brings Caribbean soul food, rum and cocktails to the city centre. It’s known for a vibrant island atmosphere, a huge rum selection and a menu with options for meat-lovers, vegetarians and vegans. At its heart is the jerk pit, where ingredients are marinated for 24 hours then flame-grilled.
What to order
Try the jerk chicken, curry goat or a roti wrap with coconut rice, or plant-based dishes like vegan jerk chicken and chickpea curry. Finish with brownies or coconut ice cream and a rum cocktail.
Who it’s for
A great choice for a lively night with friends, a bottomless brunch or a relaxed dinner with island vibes.
Atmosphere
The mood here is loud, warm and unmistakably tropical, carried by a reggae and dancehall soundtrack and walls splashed with island murals and tributes to Bob Marley. Neon rum signs glow above the bar, and the energy climbs steadily as the evening wears on.
By night it feels less like a restaurant than a party with a jerk pit — a colourful, come-as-you-are room where the rum keeps flowing and the music sets the pace.

We had a wonderful dinner here and tried wonderful cocktails! The ginger pudding was divine! I liked the portion size, but my husband would order an extra side if I go again. He had the burger and chips.

We were there spontaneously in the evening for a meal. There's plenty of seating. Very friendly staff and the order came quickly too. Tasty burgers with classic French fries, thoroughly very fine.
We had the bottomless brunch, and our waitress Lisa was without doubt the highlight of our outing. She was extremely friendly and looked after us the whole time we were there. She's a wonderful member of your team!
Cheers to Cat and Ellie! An absolutely amazing first experience for me at Turtle Bay, and I'll 100% be back! Cat was so helpful, recommending both the food and cocktails, and the evening ended with a surprise brownie for…
