Liverpool has been home to a great many talented and famous women, with most leaving their birthplace to build careers and family lives in the capital or further afield. Danielle Lloyd is one such Liverpudlian who achieved global recognition. Danielle is a renowned British model and television presenter, having been crowned “Miss England” in 2004 and “Miss Great Britain” in 2006. Read on for more details about her life and career on liverpoolka.com.
Danielle Lloyd’s Early Life and Youth
The future model was born in Liverpool in 1983. She received her secondary education at Haileybury School, where she participated in various local competitions.
After leaving school, our local girl decided to pursue a career in modelling and in the beauty industry, specifically as a masseuse. Danielle is also a qualified nail technician.

Developing a Modelling Career
In 2004, our Liverpudlian triumphed in the “Miss England” competition, and just two years later, Danielle was crowned “Miss Great Britain” (2006). However, in November 2006, the model was stripped of this title. This unfortunate event occurred after her photos were published in “Playboy” magazine. There were also rumours that Danielle Lloyd had been in a relationship with a judge from the “Miss Great Britain” competition, Teddy Sheringham. The model refuted these claims, stating that their relationship began only after the competition and had no bearing on the title. Nevertheless, the explicit photos were enough to cost her the crown. It’s worth noting that in 2010, Danielle’s “Miss Great Britain” crown was indeed reinstated.
In 2006, she reached the finals of the “Miss Maxim 2006” competition. A year later, she participated in the reality show “Celebrity Big Brother.” However, due to controversies surrounding the show, she lost several advertising contracts. It’s worth adding that our local girl donated the proceeds from her participation in the reality show to the Linda McCartney Centre.
Lloyd graced the covers of numerous men’s magazines, including “Maxim,” “Loaded,” “Nuts,” and “Zoo Weekly.”
The model has been involved in various projects, TV shows, and programmes, such as “Glamour Models Special,” “The Weakest Link,” “Total Wipeout,” and “Come Dine with Me.” She mostly donated her prize money to charity.
The Model’s Personal Life
Our Liverpool native has been officially married twice. Her first marriage was to footballer Jamie O’Hara in 2012. The couple had three sons, but their relationship didn’t last. In 2015, Danielle began dating electrician Michael O’Neill, with whom she has a son and a daughter.
The British model has undergone three breast augmentation surgeries. During her last operation, a benign tumour was removed. Danielle has stated that she will not be having any more plastic surgery.
Modelling is a demanding profession, requiring considerable effort. Not every woman can pose for cameras, showcase clothing on the catwalk, or promote products. This profession is often undervalued, which is unfair. Every job has its pros and cons and should be fairly compensated and respected by society.
Danielle Lloyd is a well-known English model who built her career independently. Through her hard work, talent, and beauty, she has reached great heights in the modelling industry.
